Mindfulness is about being awake and alive in the present moment. With mindfulness, we learn to release troubling thoughts of the past and worrying thoughts about the future. We stop running our lives on autopilot. With mindfulness, we taste what we eat. We hear the noises around us. We see what we are looking at, and we see ourselves and others more clearly. With mindfulness, we recognize how thoughts and emotions affect the body. We recognize harmful recurring thoughts and gradually see them become less prevalent in our thinking. We gain tools to move toward difficulties rather than run away from them. With mindfulness, we cope better with stress and chronic pain. Gradually, it improves our concentration, our ability to focus, and increases our overall stability. This is not something we can learn from books and lectures but, rather, from experience, using meditation and yoga practice, to reduce stress and improve quality of life.

What is it?
Mindfulness for Stress Management is an eight session group that includes an optional six hour weekend session as well as two individual sessions with the facilitator. This group is an excellent way to begin a mindfulness practice to increase health and well-being.
Program cost if paying with cash is $45.00 per group session and $135.00 for individual sessions. We can also bill insurances. Please note that insurance fees vary based on the type of insurance used.
In order to bill your insurance an individual session must be scheduled with the facilitator prior to the group start date. If you are a current client and already use insurance, you will not need to schedule an individual session before group begins. Please call our office to find out if we are able to bill your insurance and what your insurance will cover.

Our Next Group Begins April 2, 2019
5-7 p.m. Evening Group
What is it?
This group teaches techniques to 15 to 18 year old youth for handling life situations with less emotional reactivity, strengthen their ability to pay attention and concentrate, learn strategies for better problem solving, and increase compassion for themselves and others. The group will include mindfulness meditation practice as well as yoga in eight one-hour group sessions.
Group costs are $30 per session. We can bill insurances, but in order to do so, an individual session must be scheduled with the facilitator prior to the group start date.
